Review: Lamy Safari Fountain Pen Fine Nib

Writing with the Lamy Safari is much different than I had envisioned.  I assumed, quite incorrectly, that it would feel somewhat similar to writing with the Kaweco Ice Sport.  However, it has a much different feel.  It might be because I am using a good ink, or that the Safari is much longer, even before posting, but the Kaweco has more of a glide feel to writing.

The Safari is definitely a nice pen.  But I am reminded of the movie The Cutting Edge.  A hockey player can ice skate, but its not the same as an ice skater who is an Olympian.

Pen Snobbery!

In addition to all the technical work I do on a daily basis, I also have a penchant for pens it seems.  I was reading an article on Lifehacker on what tools the editors and writers use on a daily basis.  A number of them mentioned they had bought pens from Jetpens.  I didn’t think at the time anyone besides me could find office supplies, much less pens to be cool or interesting.

I had no idea of the wonderful world that existed on the internet for the love of pens, stationary, and office supplies in general.  Soon I found the Pen Addict, and associated podcast.  Before I knew it I had placed my first order from Jetpens!
